Altusen Terminal Server - Serial Port Configuration

Networking

  1. Click Port Configuration
  2. Click radio button next to COM1 (or COM2, or COM16). Click Property Settings
  3. Edit the fields as shown in the picture:

  4. Make sure that Operating Mode is set to Console Management Direct; and Online Detect is set to None.
  5. Attach a cable to the Altusen device and its networking port. Attach another end of the cable to a serial port device, e.g. ProxySG.
  6. Run the following telnet command from DOS (assume that Altusen device has IP=10.120.29.125 and the port #2 is being used):
    telnet 10.120.29.125 5002
  7. Do not feel tempted to press Ctrl+D as it may distrupt the normal operation of the port for a long time. Just press Enter a couple of times. Wait for the device serial port to respond. Enjoy.
