Configure Windows 2003 Server Active Directory and creating users to prepare for ProxySG-related lab exercises.
  • Disable Password Requirements
  • Create "bcadmin" user and "studentNN" users
  • Create user groups

Disable Password Requirements

  1. Open Administrative Tools > Domain Security Policy, open Security Settings > Account Policies > Password Policy.
  2. Set Maximum Password Age to 0. Set Password must meet complexity requirements to Disabled. Set Minimum Password Length to 0. In all these cases leave the checkbox Define this policy setting checked.
  3. Restart the Windows Server 2003 or just type this command-line:
    gpupdate /force

Create users

  1. Pick Administrative Tools > Active Directory Users and Computers, create one more shortcut to it and drag it to the desktop.
  2. Open the Active Directory Users and Computers, select rix.training.bluecoat.local > Users. Right click, pick New > User and create user with first name "Student01", empty last name, login name "student01", and password "bc01". Mark "User cannot change password" and "Password never expires".
  3. Repeat this step for "student02", … "student10" (and passwords "bc02", … "bc10") respectively
  4. Also create user "bcadmin" with password "bcadmin".
