COM1 Connector and its pins
- The numbering of pins for a DE-9 (a.k.a. DB-9) male connector. Each circle represents a pin. The picture is shown from the pin side.
- Such are used for "serial ports" in various computing devices that transmit signal via RS-232 standard.

- The correspondence between DE-9 pins and 8P8C pins in Cisco Serial Console Cables:
Serial port pin 1 - not connected to 8P8C
Serial port pin 2 - connected to pin 3 (8P8C)
Serial port pin 3 - connected to pin 6 (8P8C)
Serial port pin 4 - connected to pin 7 (8P8C)
Serial port pin 5 - connected to pin 4 and 5 (8P8C)
Serial port pin 6 - connected to pin 2 (8P8C)
Serial port pin 7 - connected to pin 8 (8P8C)
